Buffy is back!! Alright, so I know not all of you have been able to get your hands on the newest season of Buffy, but never fear. I will personally be bringing copies of each issue for the prize table, so you may get it yet! So, after thinking long and hard I decided we probably won't be getting enough traffic to justify having an individual thread for each issue. All I ask is that if you guys do decide to talk about the newest installment, please keep all potentially spoilerish comments behind spoiler tags until the Saturday after the new issue is out. That should give everyone enough time to either pick up the issue, or realize that we are talking about stuff they don't know yet and avoid the thread. Buffy Season 8 is currently up to issue 3. Issue 4 will be coming out on June 6th. Thus far it has been doing exceptionally well, with issue one in its 3rd printing and issue two in its 2nd. Issue three should be putting out its 2nd any day now. Looks like our little fandom is not to be taken lightly!

I just went out today and bought the first 4 issues. I read issue one and I have to say I was most impressed. I can't wait to read the rest.

Oh it only gets better. I'm personally looking forward to issue five the most. Has everyone seen the amazing cover art for that one? It's got three covers instead of just two and they are ALL amazing.

I was a bit confused with the variant covers. I went in the store and I thought there were like 12 issues!! One of the covers that we bought was a variant cover hence the hefty price tag.

How much were they charging you? My store only charges 4 bucks a copy since theres like one variant for ever three or four of the regular cover. They aren't exactly rare.

Ok, so I need to ask as it should have been long enough since Issue #4 came out . . . anyone else a little confused on the whole Warren issue? If he isn't dead - how was The First able to appear to Andrew as Warren in Season 7? I'm really loving these books so far, but this really seems to be a glaring inconsistency.

We were actually discussing this on another forum and here are the answers I came up with that I think could possibly work. Warren can't really be considered alive because if it weren't for the magic, he would die instantly. His body, by all physical rules, is dead, so that might be enough for the first.
OR
Warren said Amy had like a three second window to make it work. But he didn't say "to save my life." So my second theory is that he was dead and she was able to bring him back. But, lacking the power of the spell willow used for Buffy, she couldn't bring him back as a whole being, just kind of, put him back in his body, ya know?
So those are my two thoughts.

Thanks for the input! I will have to share these with my husband as he is rather distressed over the issue.

I've just read the new issue of Season 8 (out a whole week early! Way to go Dark Horse!) and I have to say, I think it's the best issue yet. It's full of that dark Joss goodness while keeping alive the things we so love about Buffy as a series. Anyone else read it yet? Any thoughts?

I wish I had an inside connection like some people do!

I don't have an inside connection! *innocent face*
Okay, so maybe I do. Working in a comic book shop DOES make it easier. But NOTHING is stopping you from ordering them online. And Midtowncomics.com even discounts them so shipping doesn't suck as bad.

I just read it and loved it. They seem to be getting better and better. I saw that Faith is on the next issue so I can't wait for that.
Wayne, we don't have any comic stores around here that sell it, so I've been ordering it online. I can give you the link to it. They are only charging like $2.39 plus shipping and handling for them.

Well putting transcripts of the issues up on the fanzone is on my to do list. It's not very high at the moment, but I do hope to have them up before the convention so everyone can be all caught up.
