Smile Time
Ok, I liked the continuity with Nina. It's nice to know they were paying attention at least somewhat.
Kind of funny to watch Angel get hit on and not realize it. Interesting to see Wes note the true happiness and how unlikely it would be for it to happen again. The shipper in me wants to feel that he's also hinting that it would never happen with anyone except Buffy.
Was laughing at the blood habit and baggage comment he made. He's got baggage and he knows it. How much of it begins with Buffy?
Aw Wes likes Fred and he's too damn stupid to pay attention. The “Talk about dense” like made me smile. Men are never big on signals.
Also nice to see they haven't forgotten vamp strength with the lock thing. We saw Buffy lose some of her Slayer-ness a few times... like they seemed to have forgotten all the things she could do.
Ok, the “Stupid plastic piece of crap” line made me laugh, but honestly puppet Angel was just silly. David did nice voice work IMO, but I just couldn't take any of it seriously. The scene of him walking out with the sword and the dramatic music mostly just made me roll my eyes.
ROFL at Lorne's “Muppet pumpkin”
“Wee little puppet man” yet Spike still got his ass kicked. Heh.
Interesting to see the boss being controlled by the puppets. A twist I didn't see coming.
LOL at the “Short bus bastards” line
The “We eat babies lives” was a little chill worthy. Ouch.
Bad Nina... don't eat Angel, stupid little puppet or no...
Ok seriously, the dying Angel puppet thing was just asinine. Tho the “Is there a Gippetto (Sorry don't know how to spell it) in the house” about made me wet myself.
We all knew Gunn had changed but I guess we're seeing more of it. It's not just the upgrade either. They should have played the scary foreshadowing music when the Doc is making a deal with him. I mean Duh. It's too bad Gunn allows his weaknesses to be played on like that, but I guess we've seen it on more than one occasion. He fears being “muscle” so much. It seems that Gunn spends a lot of time worrying about what he isn't instead of worrying about what he is.
Poor Fred, “I'm looking at-” She's trying.
Hee! Stupid puppet fingers indeed.
Ok seriously, the whole “Let's take out some puppets” was again just so damn silly and cheesy I couldn't take it seriously.
Tear you a new puppet hole. *snerk* Sounds like something from Greg the Bunny.
I've got a lot of demon in me. Puppet vamp, still just silly. Tho interesting to see Angel talking about that side again.
Maybe Angel understands that breakfast and a crush don't mean he has to fall into bed with her, or even love her. Poor Angel never had has much luck in love... every woman he's loved has treated him like shit or he's tried to kill her.
Minimal Spike is always good. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd say such a thing. *sigh* Heh. He still got his ass kicked by a puppet.
So, Fred grows a pair and goes after what she wants. And again with the doomed foreshadowing music....
I think if I hadn't had some of the basics about this eppy (Or the season in general) I might have enjoyed it more. Not that it was bad, just over the top cheesy in some places. It made some good points and had some character growth I liked seeing, but I guess I didn't love it as much as so many others did.
