So we have started assembling the team and putting the schedule together for this year. We have a lot of work to do and hundreds of great ideas about panels, games, etc. but I wanted to get some feedback from the community.
We are interested in hearing what kinds of panels and topics that you would like to see on the schedule. Let's use this thread to post your feedback and we the staff will compile these ideas together and choose some of our favorites. If your idea fits in and is not logistically impossible to implement then you might see it on the schedule.

I really enjoyed the panels last year that covered the season 8 comic stuff and Fray. I think that some of that was covered in the comic track, but some were dual with you guys I think. I would like to see a further discussion on Season 8. I really really really love the Buffy Horror thing. Are we going to be able to do that this year after the mass showing issues? Buffy costuming might be cool... though it might be considered to be within the boundaries of the costuming tract. I can't say that I go to many of the relationship type panels. I like the ones that discuss the guests and how they viewed the show.. and what they are doing now. I did hear a rumor that James Marsters might be there, and I would love to hear him talk about Torchwood. I am absolutely loving that show... but again I don't know if that would be a Buffy tract thing. Just a few things off the top of my head.

Trust me. There will be plenty of Season 8/Comic panels as this is the current work of Joss and we feel it is our obligation to deliver.

Actually I think a lot of people are hoping for some type of panel with James and Gareth David-Lloyd (from Torchwood.) They're good friends, and make for a very fun time together.

That's probably gonna happen courtesy of the Brit Sci Fi track. We may have to share him this year. Stay Tuned

I would be happy to participate on any panels. Looking forward to the list of possibilities. Assassins in the Verse, Terraforming? I'm sure The Signal podcast has some good ideas they've discussed that panels could be formed from.

Perhaps there could be a panel with favorite supporting characters, either single appearance or story arc. I have enjoyed a lot of characters that either were never central to the story or only briefly central. Like Jonathan(Buffy), Amy(Buffy), Lindsey(Angel), Darla(Buffy&Angel).
Also there have been quite a few actors that made several appearances as different characters some even on the same show(Like Tom Lenk). We could discuss their "reincarnations".
I'm trying to come up with some things, there doesn't seem to have been much response. I'll keep working on it.

I created a panel called "Play that Second Fiddle" that touched on this topic. I've had a little bit of writer's block with it though so it has never made it to a final schedule. Get with me at Dragon*Con and maybe we can come up with a good formula for it for 2009.

I love that title you have. I had been thinking "Gone, and yet we never knew ye" for the recurring supporting roles, and "Hey aren't you that guy from..." for the actors who played multiple roles. I'd love to talk about it some more. There is definitely at least one panel in there.

So the Whedontrack schedule is up and it looks fantastic. One small problem though. James Marsters is scheduled for a Torchwood panel on Friday at 1pm. as well as the Buffy panel at the same time. Oddly enough, neither the Whedontrack or the Brit track have him scheduled for a Sunday Q&A.

I've noticed this too and have informed the PTB of it. Expect to see some of this before the month is out. I would really not count on seeing the date and time conflicts resolved until the first week of August.
James is being shared between the Brit/AMSciFi/and Whedon Universe tracks this year so we get one Q & A with him on Friday. I believe that American Sci Fi is running the Sunday session and has not announced it yet. All 3 Q & A sessions are open to everyone really. We just staff the ones that are on our schedule.

Just wondering if the track will be taking volunteers for panels. I've never sat on a panel before, but I have certainly developed a soft spot for the devastating deaths panel(aka OMG You killed Jenny).

I tried to catch up with you several times over the weekend, but you were always so busy. I still think this is a great topic to discuss, so hopefully between now and next DC there will be time to throw a few ideas around.
