I have a confession to make. I am a Podcast Junkie. I have all but abandoned terrestrial radio while driving in my car. I have a 1 + hour commute each way and the only radio station that I listen to is 88.1...because my FM transmitter for my iPod works on that one. Being a computer, science, and math geek I listen to podcasts ranging from This week in Tech, This week in Law, MacBreak Weekly, Windows Weekly, Security Now, Carnegie Mellon's Math Factor Podcast, MIT's math podcast but I am not all business. I listen to the Signal and I have been for about 3 months now. The Signal is a very well produced podcast all about Serenity and Firefly. Some of the members of this forum are the producers and talent behind it. I recommend that everyone take a listen. You do not need an iPod to listed to a podcast. All that you need is a computer with a media player as most podcasts are availabe in MP3 format. Enjoy! signal.serenityfirefly.com/-Wayne

Thank you for wonderful recommendation Wayne. We are really looking forward to being back at D*Con this year and anticipate lots of good times with the unified Whedon track.... Would it be inappropriate to call the day that the Buffy track became the Whedon track "Unification Day"? We are planning to do a special Live edition of The Signal as part of the Podcasting Track again this year. Personally, I listen many different podcasts... probably 3 hours a day. They range all over including technology, humor, science, news, scifi, music, and fiction to just name a few. My full podcast list (only slightly out of date) is on my bio over on The Signal's crew page.

Podcasts are all I listen to in the car. I have 47 mile commute each day and I have worn out my music collection. I think what draws me to them is that its like talk radio but with more insight towards the human condition than what terrestrial radio has to offer.

I love the variety and personal flavor you find in podcasts. So far beyond any audio available from any other sources. I listen on my commute, at work, and when doing chores at home. So much good stuff to listen to, I just wish I had more time.
