What do you all have in mind for this? I'm excited to be a part of this, and am ready to brainstorm on ideas. I am not much of a Jayne Cobb genious, but he is my favorite character, and most interesting so bring it on.

Jayne is my favorite character from Firefly and this panel was my idea so I'll toss some ideas out to you guys. A lot of folks compare Mal to Han Solo and I often find myself looking for someone to compare Jayne to and I can't
To me he is the hired muscle of Serenity and its obvious that Mal and Zoe rarely take him seriously but they trust him with their lives in a firefight or a fistfight.
Jayne has a cynical nature, not too intelligent but he's smart and often displays a sense of logic that comes from out of nowhere. He treats Kaylee like a little sister. When she is shot he is camped outside of the infirmary until he knows that she is well. '
I'll type more later.

I'm sure I'll think of some Jayne specific things during the panel. I'd also like to talk a little bit about how Adam Baldwin does heroic things in real life (Marines charity, DTI donations, etc).

I thought that it might be interesting to talk about how Jayne perceives each of the members of the crew. This ties into the "he treats Kaylee like a little sister" h0stile17 mentioned above.

I completely agree, Wayne and I actually just had this conversation a few days ago. I feel that Jayne sees the crew as family and at the same time that he sees Kaylee as a little sister I think he views Mal as an older brother. Melissa

Beyond just assigning familial titles to Jayne's relationships with the rest of the crew, we can see that he has very specific ways of dealing with each individual person. So I would say that he sees Mal as an older brother whom he respects for his ability to find work and get out of tricky situations. In contrast, Jayne might view Wash as another brother, but one who is worthless when the shit hits the fan. So the relationship is similar in terms of their position within a family, but Jayne will constantly mock Wash at every opportunity while he will challenge Mal only on the big things.

While watching Serenity once again (this time with the Collector's Edition commentary), Simon's line "that's your guiding star, isn't it? What's of use?" stood out for me. Although Simon was actually talking about Mal, I think that this comment perfectly describes Jayne. He's selfish, and willing to sell out almost anyone if he thinks that he will benefit.
